Stanton Haynes

Stanton was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma in January 2003. During the time of January through September 2003, the Haynes family lived in Memphis while Stanton underwent six rounds of high dose chemotherapy, surgery to remove the tumor, autologous stem cell transplant and 12 rounds of radiation. They went home with Stanton classified as “no evidence of disease.”
Stanton Haynes

On April 15, 2004, the family was told the cancer was back and very aggressive. On feb. 13, 2005, one day short of his fourth birthday, Stanton left his pain and made his journey to heaven. Stanton, in his short life, did incredible things. He brought many together, from all over the world, through his family’s faith.

Stanton loved cars, and with his older brother Hayden’s help, designed a NASCAR for Domino’s and Michael Waltrip. This is just one of the ways that this tiny warrior inspired so many.

Emilie Dubose
Emilie Dubose

Emilie was thirteen months old when she was diagnosed with an optic pathway glioma on her right optic nerve in October, 2004.  The tumor was caused by a disease called neurofibromatosis (type 1) -- a condition which causes tumors to grow along nerve pathways.  Emilie was immediately accepted for treatment at St. Jude, and since then has undergone steady chemotherapy.  For the first several months of chemo, the tumor actually decreased in size somewhat, and for the last seven months has remained stable.  Emilie is scheduled to finish her chemotherapy treatment in May, at which time her doctors will decide what the next step will be for her.

We are so thankful that Emilie has been surrounded from the beginning by the prayers, love, and support of family, friends, First Baptist Church of Minden, and the community of Minden.  God has been so faithful.

If you would like to keep up with Emilie's journey, her website is listed below.

He has embarked upon his lifelong dream of serving his country in the military by joining the United States Marines Corps on June 25, 2007. Emma LeighEmma Leigh Zemaitaitis

Dear Friends of St Jude,

On November 10, 2004 our daughter, Emma who was 16 months old at the time, was
diagnosed with an optic pathway glioma. This is a tumor on the nerve behind her eyes.
It has caused her to be blind in her left eye, and only have limited vision in her right eye.
We had no idea where to go from there, lucky for us her doctor knew the best place for
her to be was at St Jude.

We arrived at St Jude November 30, 2004 and were welcomed by the great staff and
wonderful volunteers. We were there for two weeks meeting different doctors, having
a port put in place, and doing different testing to see what the best option for Emma
would be. During this time St Jude provided us with a place to stay, food, transportation,
and all the support you could ever ask for. Emma started her 18 months of chemotherapy
soon after. We had such amazing doctors during this entire process. During this time St
Jude has become like a second home to us.

She officially finished in June of 2006 and the tumor has been stable every since. We
are so thankful for everything that St Jude has done for our family. The doctors and
nurses have become like family to us this is such an amazing place, words can not
describe how wonderful it really is. Without people like you who donate to this amazing
hospital all of this wouldn't have been in place to save a child’s life.

Sincerely,

Matt and Michelle Zemaitaitis

Marshall Greene

Marshall was diagnosed with ALL on Sept. 27th, 2000. He was transported by 2 off duty shreveport firefighters and paramedics in a donated ambulance to St. Judes Hospital were he was treated for over 3 years. He took his last dose of chemotherapy in January of 2004. Through it all, he was strong of heart and had the best spirit anyone could wish for. He never complained and we could not have been prouder of him for how he handled all the hardship and pain he went through. Thanks to the help of the doctors and staff at St. Judes and the prayers and support of our friends in Minden, he is well and healthy. We can not express enough how strongly we feel about supporting St. Judes and the work that is done there.

This is a picture of Marshall taken summer of 2005 carrying the flag at a rodeo at Josey's Ranch in Marshall, Texas. Getting ready to do what he loves, team roping.

Everyday, we thank God for not taking our son from us and for the doctors and nurses at St Judes hospital.

Ethan Powell

After a routine visit to the doctor's office for Ethan's eight week checkup, they found a lump and sent us to the hospital. AfteEthan Powellr numberous tests, they have confirmed that Ethan has Leukemia. From all that we know, this is an extremely rare diagnosis considering that he has between a 1,000,00 and 1,500,000 white blood cell count, and he just passed with 2 month birthday. Please visit http://www.ethanpowell.com for the full details. If you would like to send a word of encouragement or prayers, please do so at prayersforethan@yahoo.com. We place our son's health in God's hands and ask for your prayers.

- Editor's Note: Ethan's grandfather, Larry Powell-Dean of BPCC Telecommunications Department (who films our auction now), had just finished working the 2007 auction all weekend and the diagnosis was made two days later.  He is there with the family.

Danielle Dunning

Blessed beyond words by the love and continued support of friends, family, community and followers! Continued prayers for God's grace to follow Danielle throughout her life and the one's who are still fighting the fight!!! Please continue to support St. Jude's, Ronald McDonald House and Caringbridge when you can.

Danielle is 14 years old and was diagnosed with cervical embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma Stage IV at LSUHSCS on Oct. 17, 2006. She loves to ride her horse, 4 wheelers and go carts. She lives with her aunt & uncle, B.J. & Jonathan Pike, in Dubberly, LA. Her daddy, Tommy Kirk, is a horse trainer in Dubberly also. She is a member of Bistineau Baptist Church in Heflin, LA. She is being treated at LSUHS Pediatric Hospital in Shreveport, LA by Dr. Maged Jaroudi. We have had an amazing support team of family, friends and prayer warriors. The medical teams and nurses at LSU have been so caring and we have developed a friendship through this journey. We were told to ask for a miracle when she was diagnosed and we will continue to do so. God has been so wonderful as our provider and comforter. He has given us so much hope and understanding. We know that life is not fair but we know we can rely upon His love and grace to help us through.

Logan O'Neal

Logan O'nealLogan was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in November of 1998 and went to the LordNovember 4, 2000. Logan was a valiant warrior in his fight against cancer and was a hero to all his family and many others in the Springhill & Shongaloo community. He never asked why he was sick, instead saying that Jesus asked him to carry the burden so another child would not have to do it. He was an extraordinary soul who touched many lives during his short time on this earth. Even though Logan lost his battle, the doctors and nurses at St.Jude gave us two years with him that we probably would not have had otherwise and we are thankful for that!

Dwayne Ramsey

Dwayne Ramsey (16) was diagnosed at the early age of 13 months as having AML Luekemia. At the time of his diagnoses he was the youngest AML patient St. Jude had seen in 1994. After 9 months of chemo, radiation and Bonemarrow Transplant Dwayne has always loved life to its fullest! He excels in school even with having mild learning problems and has found a passion in running. The last two yrs, he had trained everyday running around 3 miles just because it makes him feel good is what he tells friends and family. We, His parents remember a day 15 yrs ago that we were told the outlook wasn’t good at all for ourlittleboy that had the bluest eyes you had ever seen. And today his life is so blessed. Dwayne has been a scout since the age of 7 and now is 1st class in BoyScouts in Ringgold. He also is involved in Prison Minstry in Castor as time permits.

This young man is truly a miracle and we truly know if it had not been for a place called St.Judes in Memphis Tenn and the caring and loving drs and nurses and the Lord above our son would not be here with us today. Thank you to all and everyone involved in making this auction possible. Sincerely, The Larry Ramsey family

Malissa Hackler

Malissa Hackler is 17 and a junior with Springhill High School. She was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma(cancer of the joints) on July 2nd, 2008. We started with the St Jude family on the first week of August 2008. We were there almost every week running tests. She has had three surgeries. We started radiation treatment the first week of October and treatment ended Nov 22, 2008. From our last visit in Jan, we have found we are cancer free as of the moment. We will be returning to St Jude every three months for MRI's and PET's scans starting March 15th. We will be with St. Jude for 5 years.

Joshua Foster

Josh became very sick Feb. 21, 1998, when he was 15 months old. We were told that he may have a form of cancer Josh was taken from Minden Medical Center to LSU and stabilized, then immediately taken to St. Judes in Memphis. After arriving at St. Jude's test were ran and we were then informed that Josh had "ALL." That was a real roller coaster of emotions for our family. We watched in fear of what was happening to our child. It really felt like you were in a dream and were going to wake up any minute. Joshua Foster

We honestly, would have been totally lost if it would not have been for ST. Judes, Josh would not be here today. Josh received 18 months of weekly chemo; however, some complications did arise and set him back several weeks, and we finished chemo in 2001. We have now learned that due to the extensive chemo and radiation that was given to him inside his spinal cord and spinal fluid. Josh does have learning disabilities. Despite this Josh loves to go to school at Castor. Josh is a very active young man that loves life, loves to travel to different states, going hunting and fishing with his dad. Josh wants to enroll in the military when he gets 18.

This truly wouldn't be possible if people wouldn't believe and donate to St. Judes. We always donated to St. Judes and NEVER thought one day our son would actually be a patient. Walking in the door at St. Judes you can feel the power of prayer, good deeds, miracles, love and dedication that is there from each parent, child and staff member.

We would like to THANK each and every person that has believed in and supported St. Judes.

Jaydon Roger

Jaydon was diagnosed with Stage IV Advanced High Risk Neuroblastoma cancer in April of 2007 after we had been back and forth to the pediatrician with what they thought was a virus. We were immediately sent to St Jude in Memphis, TN. We were told he had a 10-30% chance of survival. Once we arrived at St Jude, he began months of intensive chemo treatments, had surgery to remove most of the main tumor in the abdomen (he had 3 tumors total), a stem cell transplant and 17 radiation treatments. We were there for 1 year and 3 months and while our lives were turned upside down by the diagnosis, we found many new friends and support through St Jude Children's Research Hospital. We formed friendships during our time in Memphis that will never be forgotten. Jaydon is such a strong little boy with a loving, kind spirit who never complained about all the horrible stuff he went through during treatment.

Once we arrived back in Bossier City in May 2008, Jaydon began his 18 month chemo maintenance treatments and he took his last dose of chemo in September 2009! Praise the Lord! God is definitely our refuge and strength, our family is full of faith and are so thankful that Jaydon is back to doing normal little boy activities. He is making straight A's in school and is involved in Boy Scouts and loves church activities. Jaydon is a miracle! We are so grateful to St Jude for all their awesome medical care and their compassionate staff. St Jude is constantly striving to improve all aspects of their hospital, but to those of us who have been there, we believe they are already Number One! Thank you for donating your time and money, you are helping many precious children!
